Overview

AV Touch Panel / Push Button Control

To control the audiovisual system, you will need to use a control panel or interface. There are four main types of panels in the Arts & Sciences classroom spaces. View the Quick Start Guides for each panel type to learn how to get started.

Connecting Your Notebook or Tablet

You can connect your own laptop or mobile device to the classroom systems through a wired connection or wireless in most locations

 

Wired Connection

Connect your device directly to the audiovisual system through a cable at the lectern or presentation location.

Connect your device wirelessly to the audiovisual system to present content from anywhere in the classroom. Learn more

Microphones

Lapel or Lavalier microphones are available in many of the classroom spaces. These microphones clip onto a shirt or article of clothing about 6" away from the chin and have a body pack that can be clipped to a belt or placed into a pocket. The microphones are wireless so you can move around the space without contending with a wire. Volume and muting controls can be found on the control interface.

Classroom Capture and Recording

There are two capture options available in the Arts & Sciences Classrooms: Desktop Capture and Classroom Capture.

Desktop Capture

Bring your laptop or use the Classroom Computer to record your presentation. Panopto recorder can record video through the computer webcam and capture your computer desktop simultaneously. The computer microphone can pick up audio within 3-4', so stay close. Learn More

Classroom Capture

Classroom Capture is a scheduled service available in several classrooms that can capture and distribute a recording of your class to your students through Canvas. The service is able to record a video of the white board and content sent to the projector. Learn More

Classroom Orientation In-Class Academic Support Report A Problem
Meet with with a Classroom Specialist from the ITC, Classroom Technology Services (Class Tech) team. Schedule an orientation to learn how to use the audio visual system in your central booked classroom. Or schedule a consultation to review the audio visual needs for a non-central booked classroom. ITC, Classroom Technology Services (Class Tech) provides in-room audio visual support in central booked / non-central classrooms to assist the faculty with technical and logistical aspects of technology for A&S courses. Report an audio visual problem experienced in a an A&S classroom.

Dartmouth Hall 001, 002, 007, 009, 106, 110, 111, 112, 208, and 304 are single projector rooms that can support basic presentation from a classroom computer or laptop through a wired HDMI connection. Silsby 126 Classroom Overview
Silsby 126 is a group-learning focused room with an audiovisual system that supports the use of a classroom computer or laptop through wired or wireless connection. Voice lift and a lapel microphone is available for local speech reinforcement. Ceiling microphone and room cameras will capture audio and video to use when joining the classroom to a Zoom meeting. Eight team stations enable presentation content to be distributed or the ability for teams to connect a laptop group work.
